5 Steps To Take When Experiencing Burnout
Evie: [00:00:00] So from my point of view, what I did was I just blocked a whole day out of my diary. And I told my manager I was sick. I told my whole team I was off and I didn't just take the day off and do nothing. I was like, okay, what is going on? Let me write down everything that's happening in my work world right now and work out like what's stressing me out, what's important, what's not important.
What can I perhaps delegate, what actually needs to be done and made a whole list and a whole plan of these things. And by the end of it, I basically worked out exactly what I could strip from my plate. And that exercise was amazing for two things. One, it obviously helped clear a load of my mental load.
And two, it was the first time that I realized that me going offline for a full day and telling people that I wasn't available didn't cause any problems. I didn't have that much more to catch up with when I got back. So it was a great learning for me to then be able to set better boundaries going forwards.
